1)Bubba was bragging to his boss one day, "You know, I know everyone there is to know. Just name someone, anyone, and I know them."

Tired of his boasting, his boss called his bluff, "OK, Bubba how about Tom Cruise?"

"Sure, yes, Tom and I are old friends, and I can prove it."

So Bubba and his boss fly out to Hollywood and knock on Tom Cruise's door, and sure enough, Tom Cruise, shouts, "Bubba! Great to see you! You and your friend come right in and join me for lunch!"

Although impressed, Bubba's boss is still skeptical.

After they leave Cruise's house, he tells Bubba that he thinks Bubba's knowing Cruise was just lucky.

"No, no, just name anyone else," Bubba says.

"President Clinton," his boss quickly retorts.

"Yes," Bubba says, "I know him, let's fly out to Washington."

And off they go.

At the White House, Clinton spots Bubb on the tour and motions him and his boss over, saying, "Bubba, what a surprise, I was just on my way to a meeting, but you and your friend come on in and let's have a cup of coffee first and catch up."

Well, the boss is very shaken by now, but still not totally convinced.

After they leave the White house grounds, he expresses his doubts to Bubba, who again implores him to name anyone else.

"The Pope," his boss replies.

"Sure!" says Bubba.

"My folks are from Poland, and I've known the Pope a long time."

So off they fly to Rome.

Bubba and his boss are assembled with the masses in Vatican Square when Bubba says, "This will never work. I can't catch the Pope's eye among all these people. Tell you what, I know all the guards so let me just go upstairs and I'll come out on the balcony with the Pope."

And he disappears into the crowd headed toward the Vatican.

Sure enough, half an hour later Bubba emerges with the Pope on the balcony.

But by the time Bubba returns, he finds that his boss has had a heart attack and is surrounded by paramedics.

Working his way to his boss' side, Bubba asks him, "What happened?"

His boss looks up and says, "I was doing fine until you and the Pope came out on the balcony and the man next to me said, "Who's that on the balcony with Bubba?"

There was an archery competition and 3 top archers are competing to be the best.

The first archer took out his bow and arrow and took aim. When he was steady, he released his arrow from 30meters and hit the bull's eye! Everyone applaud and the archer was very proud of himself. He shouted: "Yes! I'm Robin Hood!"

The second archer now came forward. Instead of the 30meter mark, he stood at the 40meter mark and took aim. With one swift shot, the arrow split the arrow of the first archer into half and hit the bull's eye! Everyone was shocked. The second archer shouted proudly: "I'm Hou Yi!" (Hou Yi is the famous archer who shot down the nine suns in Chinese folk tales)

It is now for the third archer to shoot. To beat the competition, he stood at the 50 meter mark. However, just as he was going to release the arrow, some sand flew into his eyes and made him lose focus. Thus, the arrow went off target and hit a umpire nearby. He died on the spot. Alarmed, the third archer then exclaimed: "I'm....I'm......I'm sorry"

its a beautiful monday and i hope everybodys doing fine! i hear many familiar faces were sighted at nus med, so i suppose that was like an unofficial class meeting!
haha but scholarship and further studies worries aside, i hope everybodys having it sorta peachy. or at least okay.

(okay i realise im not a great person to be saying this, seeing as how i dint go for class lunch! but thats cos i only took half day leave and i only got off work at one!)

anyway congrats to everybody on a s! we all worked hard and we got our results! so all the anxious waiting is finally over! (: now theres other sources of anxiety but ANYWAY, all the guys will be passing out soon right? and seeing as time is passing so fast, lets have a class outing before everybody flies off to their bright futures!

So so much speculation over when As are likely to come out... I have NO idea! Though chances are it's next week? (Since it's probably a bit late in this week for them to annouce for them to come out on next Fri, and apparently usually next week is the "normal" time for release of As?) haha it feels like the Y2K bug all over again like its coming its coming its COMING but oh. nothing happened. im referring to our A level results getting out last friday of course (: people actually msged me just to CHECK they werent really coming out. haha (: im happy they dint though, cos yeah. that woulda been a toughhh weekend. and the reason we're all still peachy is that we havent heard anything!

ahh vicky i feel so silly. when i went on holiday in dec they were already showing constant gardener on the plane and i dint watch it because, well, i dint know anything about it! and now that its out and it sounds great i want to but now ive to pay money : oh well, that IS silly.

everybodys hearing different things about when the results are coming out but one things for sure -- that its soon! so we'll just have to brace ourselves and hoooope for the best (: im sure everybodys gonna be alright!

The Constant Gardener is a superb movie! haha EngShing you should watch it! Its quite a lengthy movie, and adapting the plot from the book by John le Carre is tricky business, but I felt that the director and scriptwriter really portrayed the essence of the story.
Ralph Fiennes is so charismatic! =D

And the issue talked about in the movie is something that is real, though not something we would have known (being apathetic & stuck in a small island) without reading widely & having GP lessons. haha. Well there's lots of evidence pointing to this Friday, such as apparently how ASTAR postponed all the scholarship interviews they had this Friday? But went back to RJ today... According to Mr Sze As are out Week 9. Plus there's been no announcement from MOE as yet, so unless we hear something in the next couple of days it's unlikely that As are out this week?

I really don't know if I want As to come out or not. On one hand it'll be something to work with... On the other hand it may just completely destroy everything. =|

whatever the case, i think most of the guys would be happy with A's coming out on a weekday. cos it'd mean we get 2 bookouts in a wk including the weekend bookout (i hope), and if we're lucky, actually bookout the night before A's release! haha. wishful thinking.

i just discovered some new function of MSN, the boss protection! it is especially useful for those working in office and u do not want yur boss to see u illegally using MSN.

Firstly, u need latest version of MSN plus
then u just go to preference under plus! and activate boss protection and create a shortcut key
u can now press the shortcut key and all the convo windows will hide and the MSN icon in the bottom rite corner will change.

haha, super useful for slackers like me. damn, too bad i have no internet at my workplace

today i went for an interview and i met sok! who has very obviously lost some weight and gotten darker. he was very very funny! sitting on the comfortable couch waiting he kept dropping off to sleep and his head would swing around until the imbalance woke him up! (:
soon ends my looong stint as a free person, i will probably be starting work soon! oh and i'll be relief teaching physics at rj for two days -13 & 14 feb. i need to get some money after all the money thats been going out in support of new shoes, new clothes etc. and OUCH. adult fare is a total killer!
awww mich that class is probably so enthu about their blog cos theyre new! then all of them are really excited and checking each other out and! yeah! look at our class we're so funky too! almost everybody has written something (even minjia!) and hopefully we'll continue to write!
anyway, its final. o level results on 10 feb, what that means for us is woot our results are coming soon too!
everybody take care and we must meet up soon! if anyone wants we could all come over to my place again for basketball (guys), dvd/vcd (girls) and a good bbq (IF the guys actually bring some food this time)!

hello all you civilians, this is REC Q Z TAN protecting your country.

we're finally out for the CNY break, the first substantial break we've got. if you guys dint know, i'm in the same company as REC M J CHUA so we see each other pretty often. during meal times i see REC A W LAW, REC Z W SOK and REC Q S NG too cos we're all in the same school.

being in the army for awhile is fine. but you really don't wanna be in there for too long. army life is simply bizarre. everything has to be written in caps (if you haven't noticed). and you have to recite the SAF 7 Core Values everytime you drink water. yes, everytime. (btw they make you drink up before every meal. how are you gonna have a full meal after drinking so much water?!)and you go for numerous lectures with slideshows full of bad grammar and spelling.

But then again, they give you lots of free stuff.

So went back to RJ last Tues and dragged Weiting to go see Ms Hor and Mrs Chan... anyway we're supposed to get our testimonials when A levels are out I think (since Ms Hor was saying she still had to rush her testimonials) so I suppose that's when we'll get our CCA records etc too? And hopefully the batch directory as well.

Relax, I'm torturing my neighbours with Chopin too. =D And with screeching series of wrong notes on the violin haha.

I think shadowmage's QiSheng too.

Oh yes and RJ looks really nice now after they did those renovations at the end of last year. The car porch got some new floor tiles and they had little subtle changes here and there which made it look pretty nice actually. And the science lab block (viewing from the canteen) now has lots and lots of little planter boxes with "RJ" on them. And there's now a Japanese food stall (Stall 1) too!!

friday's coming. tis bad. i've yet to get a haircut and a cap. guess it'll feel weird not having to push up my fringe so it wont poke my eyes. =/

its been pretty boring so far. almost all the guys are in army, save for engshing, who's kindly reminded me his birthday's coming up so everbody please mark 26th of this month on your calendars. gals mostly working. nobody to go out with, QED. hence the stoning at home. and torturing neighbours with my attempts at chopin and november's chopin.

driving hmm. well. can't say much, and i missed the latest possible date for basic theory test before i enlist so yea. but i think it depends on how gd you are, so there's no set duration for how long it takes. and how often you have your lessons. weekly vs thrice weekly. so yea. varies from person to person i guess.

oh does anyone know when we'll get our cca certificate thingy? and whatever happened to that batch contact list eh.

Haha I intend to go learn driving lessons but somehow haven't made it down to BBDC (nearest my house!) to register yet! Hmmm my sisters passed on their first try there too I think so hopefully can do the same yayy. =P

Anyone know how long it takes to learn driving in total?

Oh and I'm going back to RJ tmr! Haha. =D

Oh don't worry Sara I've been slacking around like mad at home too. Supposed to be submitting apps and all but errr somehow finding more time to slack around than actually doing stuff! Oh and hmmm I've only read Pride and Prejudice, Northanger Abbey, Emma and Mansfield Park... still have a couple more to go! Oh yes and I bought the Colin Firth P&P DVD so... =D

hey everybody!

i dont think anybody is really doing nothing and lazing around like me. i am unemployed and shamelessly free, and really quite happy! i have just finished the complete works of jane austen (yay shireeen!) and i think i will turn into a vegetable soon! (actually nahh. i think i'll try and find a job soon because im spending too much money!)

anyway i think its quite funny that we have a group blog! esp now that we wont be flooding it with like "PAY CLASS FUNDS" or similar announcements.

i hope everybodys doing great, in whatever theyre doing, and having a great time doing it!

Oh and errr if you didn't get an email to join (which is probably if your email in the class list from J1 is wrong or you're not using that email anymore) get someone to send you an invite cause yes again everyone's admin so everyone can do everything yay. =)

Oh yes and apparently there was a report in the newspaper a couple of weeks ago about how release of O level results was being pushed forward to mid-Feb, so since they seem to release A level results exactly one week after O level results are out... =|

Does our blog have a tagboard. I can't remember.
I hope the guys who are already in camp are enjoying themselves :) and getting used to their lack of hair. I haven't been keeping in touch with most of the girls but I suppose everyone's working or taking up internships .etc

yay! i am the fourth person to blog here.

sian lor, the guys going to enter NS liao (like me). NS is actually quite fun la, can go home everyday, play carom in the afternoon with the other NSF and Medical Officers, lunch treat from the MO at chinese restaurant, no pumping, no night duty... Oops, i guess this kind of NS life is only exclusive to me. HAHAHAHAHA, the guys going NS must be damn pissed with me now. If u guys ever need to get MC or anything, i can give u all tips to chao geng. You guys most probably will be refered to CMPB MCC when u r sick, so i may help u all abit. :p

I'm quite stunned, to say the least. We have a class blog, though it seems kinda late, and I'm the 3rd fella to write an entry, which doesnt bode well, since I seldom, if ever, blog. Sigh. Life's so depressing. NS beckons and my hair, or what's left of it, looks horrible (someone pass me a paper bag with 2 holes cut out). I shall leave A level results aside since Nick Ong is wrong. He'd better be...

Like what am I supposed to write... Er... Ya. Everyone have fun either like working, stoning, or screwing around at an offshore sunny resort.

this is definitely something new..a 3c class blog, hm? there's the inevitable question of how long is this thing gonna last, given that we're all out of sch etcetc gals working, guys wading in mud blahblahyadayada. so in the altruistic spirit of class unity and ________________ (insert whatever cause you deem noble enough) i shall post this thoroughly useless entry cos im cranky from lack of sleep and boredom. gday to all, and take care.
